About Bitcoin
Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency, launched in 2009 with a supply capped at 21 million coins. It trades around the clock on spot exchanges and on perpetual futures markets, where leverage and funding add their own swings around obvious highs and lows.
Because BTC is the largest crypto asset, its trend often sets the tone for everything else. That is why Finora's reads of altcoins usually say whether a coin is moving with Bitcoin or against it, and why a counter-trend BTC setup on a low timeframe gets flagged as needing extra confirmation.
New bitcoin is issued as a block reward that halves every 210,000 blocks, roughly every four years; the most recent halving was in April 2024. For chart reading, BTC is also the benchmark Finora uses for other coins, so a trend flip on the BTC daily or weekly chart tends to show up as counter-trend warnings across many altcoin reads at once.
How to use these reads
Each read follows the same checklist: the trend on that timeframe, how it lines up with the daily and weekly charts, where the liquidity sits, the key levels, and the close that would invalidate the idea. How Finora reads a chart explains each step.
Start with the timeframe you actually trade. If its bias disagrees with the higher timeframes, the read will usually call the move counter-trend and ask for confirmation first. Treat every level here as a note from the moment it was written, then check the live chart before you act.
